Improvement of Oversized Convoy Passage on the RM 353

Following feedback from several transport operators regarding difficulties on the RM 353, the Port Autonome de Strasbourg requested the Eurométropole de Strasbourg to identify a sustainable solution.

Since 2024, certain oversized convoys traveling from the South Terminal to southern Alsace faced signage that was too low, forcing them to temporarily use the opposite lane at night under police supervision.
This situation resulted in additional costs estimated at approximately €120,000 per year for the transport operators.

To address this issue, the Eurométropole de Strasbourg and the Port Autonome de Strasbourg decided to work together on the affected infrastructure.
Financial responsibility was shared equally, formalized through an agreement signed on August 12, 2025.

Today, the work has been completed, and the signs now provide sufficient clearance for the safe passage of oversized convoys.
